To mention a few: KGUN 9 News, Realtors Magazine, Arizona Daily Star,USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Derivatives Strategy, Williams Intranet, Business 2.0, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times

Arriving in the United States 16 years ago with only $100 in her pocket and an intense desire to succeed, she parlayed her achievements in the chess world into a successful career on Wall Street.

In 2001, Anjelina earned a Masters Degree in Mathematics in Finance from the prestigious Currant Institute at New York University.

In the same year, she relocated from New York to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she accepted a position as a weather derivatives trader. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to the head of the weather trading desk at the country’s third largest energy company, Williams Energy.

Anjelina’s cutting edge work in weather derivatives earned her industry recognition and national press coverage.

“Companies scrambling for position in the trading market went after the brain power needed to crunch the numbers representing all of these factors. Williams, in Tulsa, Okla., for example, hired Anjelina Belakovskaia, a Ukrainian chess grandmaster, to help quantify weather effects.” The Wall Street Journal, December 31, 2002

After the meltdown of the energy industry in 2002, Anjelina moved back to New York and enjoyed sailing the high seas with Princess Cruises as a guest lecturer.

She married and relocated to Tucson in late 2003. Her first son, Brian was born in Tucson in 2004 and Anjelina began her new career in Real Estate. While the career transition struck many former Wall Street colleagues as surprising, Anjelina greeted the challenges. She lives by the motto that “the road to success is constantly under construction” and she brings a unique and powerful skill set to the table for her clients.

Soon after her start in real estate, Anjelina began receiving attention for her innovative marketing approaches. She was written up in a front page business story of the Arizona Daily Star (March 9, 2005). The same marketing strategies also led to a lead television story on KGUN News (November 19, 2006).

Anjelina works and lives in the Catalina Foothills with her husband Lawrence and two sons, Brian and Connor. In addition to her business and family responsibilities, she enjoys playing tennis at the nearby Lodge at Ventana Canyon, trading her high volatility stock portfolio online, and dining out at her favorite restaurants: Le Rendez-vous, La Fuente and Acacia at St. Philips.
